Stephanie speaks many languages though the languages she is most skilled in are English, French and Scottish, she can also understand German and Spanish perfectly but she speaks though two with a heavy English accent.  

Stephanie is a rather decent fighter, she can handle a sword and gun well enough to save her life if she ever needs to, but due to her distaste in killing people she prefers not to use them. She does admire the weapons, she simply does not like taking a life with them. She is more than happy to participate in competitions with those though.

Stephanie as a ships Quartermaster is both skilled in the steering of a ship an ships and the handling of supplies. She knows where to buy provisions, how many provisions and other logistic related duties almost by instinct.

Stephanie is cheery and friendly but at the same time she is rather shy and tends to keep to herself. While shy she can be quite social with others when she needs to be, it is simply she feels a bit uncomfortable interacting with people whom she does not know. Stephanie also will not take it kindly if you harm anyone she cares about, while most would underestimate her since she is just a woman, life at sea has made her stronger than most of the men whom would frown upon her. Her work as a privateer has also forced her to learn how to use a sword and gun but she does not really like taking the lives of others, she likes being at sea, she likes her work, she just finds the killing that she may have to do distasteful.

history

Stephanie Montgomery is the child of Gerald and Madaline Montgomery. Stephanie never got to know either of her parents, her father died at seas before she was born and her mother died during childbirth. Stephanie was instead raised by Admiral Jonathan Albert Chamberlain whom felt it was his duty to help raise the kid since her father was his first mate before his untimely demise.

Stephanie grew rather close to the Chamberlain family over the years and came to think of them as her family since she never really got to know her real parents. Stephanie herself was never officially part of the family, the Admiral never officially adopted Stephanie but unofficially she was a member of the Chamberlain's. Though over time she grew distant from the family, they still considered each other to be friends and family but they simply interacted with each other less.

Stephanie was sent to St.Trinians for her education by the Admiral it was there she made many of her friends. It was here she met one Amelia Hawkins whom she befriended and when Amelia found out about her closeness to Rear Admiral Chamberlain, Amelia managed to convince Stephanie to help her obtain a letter of marque. Stephanie herself was always fascinated by the sea, she wanted to know what her father did and know what her adoptive father figure did, so Stephanie agreed to attempt obtaining a letter of marque on the condition that she could be part of the crew.

When Stephanie went to obtain the letter, she knew about her adoptive father figures traditional mindset, thus she had to lie about whom she was obtaining the letter for. If the Admiral knew she was trying to obtain the letter for a woman she knew without a doubt that she would not obtain the letter.

Stephanie did manage to obtain the letter and since then she has been working on Amelia's ship as a quartermaster. Stephanie certain found the sea to be a hard yet exciting and wonderful life.
